Prior to forming Reid & Co. in 1991, Mr. Reid was a senior partner with Finley, Kumble, Wagner, Heine, Underberg, Manley, Myerson & Casey, one of the largest national law firms in the U.S., and a senior partner of Cooper, Epstein & Hurewitz, a mid-sized regional law firm. In addition, Mr. Reid have been a frequent lecturer and have published several articles in his field of expertise.

It has been Mr. Reid's observation that the structure, overhead and billing practices of the major law firms has caused them to be very expensive, inefficient and unresponsive for many clients and types of transactions. His belief that a quality product should not be this expensive and take so long was the foundation for the formation of Reid & Co.

     Cost Savings. Reid & Co. has implemented its business plan by cutting substantial costs from its overhead and passing the savings along to its clients in lower hourly rates. In addition, Reid & Co. has taken the innovative step of encouraging many projects to be billed at a "fixed fee" (a firm price for a transaction which allows the client to budget the actual cost). Based upon a review of bills over the years, clients have found that Reid & Co.'s fees are substantially less than the fees they paid previously for comparable work. In fact, many clients have been able to save at least 50% on their legal fees.
